Le Louis, MGallery by Sofitel 4* is glistening in Versailles

Le Louis Versailles Château MGallery by Sofitel, former Pullman Château de Versailles, opened its doors in late July 2017 following extensive renovation works.

This 19th century hotel, situated opposite the Château de Versailles, offers a harmonious combination of contemporary elegance and classic refinement in which careful consideration was given to the choice of lighting designs.

The hotel’s renovations were entrusted to Russian architectural firm Sundukovy Sisters. In the history-steeped premises of the hotel, the two sisters chose to highlight the contrast of eras with an interior decoration in which contemporary elegance meets classic refinement. The design seeks to reflect the harmony between Architecture and Nature, a recurrent theme in the hotel’s decoration in order to evoke the Parc du Château. Each element and material was carefully chosen to reflect the codes of Versailles and every area of the hotel was given a more contemporary touch to bring it into the present day.

The choice of lighting was a focal point in the renovations. The lighting designs enhance the atmosphere and style of each area of the hotel and give them their unique atmosphere. From the night lights on the facade of the hotel and the impressive central glass pane to the majestic chandelier in the hotel bar and the mirrors that have been placed behind the wall lights to diffuse and reflect the light, everything is designed to remind us of The Sun King, Louis the Great. In the hotel’s 152 bedrooms, including 7 suites, tradition and modernity combine to create a soft lighting ambiance. The traditional savoir-faire of lighting expert Brossier Saderne was called upon for the magnificent chandeliers, composed of crystal drops and completed with a brushed brass finish and cutting edge LED technology. This elegant hotel offers both tradition and modernity and reminds us of the pomp and splendor of the palace.

On the top floor, the fitness centre, sauna and hammam offer breathtaking panoramic views. An added advantage is the bespoke guided tours of the Château offered by the hotel.

As night falls, the MGallery by Sofitel truly comes into its own thanks to the lighting effects on the facades and the stunning central glass pane. The Sun King is back!
